Requirements for a marriage license issued in Kearney
County
- Both applicants must
appear together in person at the County Clerk’s office (plan on
at least a half an hour for completion).
- Both applicants must
supply a valid photo ID (Example: Driver’s License or Passport).
- Parental consent is
required for applicants who are 17 or 18 years of age. The
parental consent form is to be filled out in the County Clerk’s
office.
- Applicants must
supply the following information for the completion of the
marriage license:
- Applicant’s
Social Security Number
- Full name and
birthplace of both applicants
- Full name and
birthplace of both sets of parents (First, Middle & Last
including Maiden)
- If either party was
previously married, provide the date the marriage terminated.
(Date of divorce decree, annulment or date of death).
- Marriage license fee
is $25.00 (cash or check only).
- License will be valid for one year from the date of
issuance with no waiting period.
- A marriage license may be obtained in any county
(does not need to be the county of residence) and utilized
anywhere in the State of Nebraska.
To obtain a Certified copy of a marriage license issued
by Kearney County either stop by the County Clerk’s Office or mail a
request with the following information and $9.00 check or money
order:
- Name of both applicants (including maiden name)
- Month/day/year of marriage
- Where to mail the certified copy mailed
