The Kearney County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for the position of Kearney County Clerk of the District Court until 5:00 p.m. on August 7, 2026 and interviews will be at 9:30 a.m. on August 11, 2026 at the Board of Commissioners special meeting.  Successful applicant will fill the unexpired term of the resigned Clerk of District Court through January 7, 2027.  Benefit package includes retirement, health, dental and life insurance. 

JOB DUTIES:  Maintain the records of criminal & civil cases, the Court’s dockets & processing judgments; receipting & disbursing payments; prepare monthly & quarterly fee reports; prepare yearly budget; process protection order applications and passport applications; jury commissioner duties. Job requires absolute confidentiality.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Fluency in typing; computer & data entry; knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures; strong customer service and good phone etiquette.  Experience in legal work a plus, but not required.
